Assignment Five - Laptop Design

I chose Body Art as the theme for my laptop design, and specifically tattoo culture. I believe the art of tattoo is a form of body art and rarely some form of cult following.

It's a messy piece of art, the one I have above but art is expressive, especially on the body. The exterior design depicts strings of color following into the silhouette's body, giving the idea that color is being injected into his veins, encircling him and making his life more expressive than before. The idea of the design is to show that the expressiveness of body art and to challenge the archaic belief that body art is "bad".

I thought I wanted to make the interior a little cuter. I injected some old school sailor tattoos as they are possibly the most recognizable ones around. The little geek guy sitting on top of the keyboard is welcoming all colors into his life, circling the strings of color around his hand and body.

Messy, yes, but I do hope the message got across.
